Yes – all three domes have a full bathroom with flushing toilet, hot shower and sink facilities.
Yes – all three domes have cell phone reception. Free wifi is provided – details of how to access this is in a folder in each of the domes.
Yes. However, we would really like everyone to enjoy their stay while at Hanmer Glamping. So, please think about others during your stay.
While you are welcome to play music while in the hot tub or dome and watch TV we ask that you please keep the volume very low so as not to impact other guests enjoying the quiet retreat that is Hanmer Glamping.
On the whole – no. This is because we are aiming to create a quiet adult get-away, and we haven’t provided facilities for children like play equipment.
That said, if you want to book all 3 domes and have children in your group, we would be more than happy. This is because everyone in your group will have the same expectations. The easiest way to arrange this is to contact us.
We like children a lot – it’s just that they are naturally noisy and inquisitive which isn’t always welcome with other guests.
Sorry for the inconvenience but, while we love animals and have dogs ourselves, many guest prefer not to have animals around and our accommodation is intended as a peaceful retreat. So, we do not allow dogs or other pets with the exception of guide dogs.
Yes – you are welcome to book more than one geodome. If you want to book all three domes together you can use the booking form, or feel free to contact us.
If booking the entire place (all 3 domes) we can then accept children as well.
The Games Shed is particularly good for groups, as it provides a communal area to play games and socialise.
We provide a range of kitchen equipment including:
- electric kettle
- toaster
- microwave
- benchtop hob
- full coffee machine
- pots and pans
- crockery and cutlery
- chopping board
- grater, tin opener, bottle opener
- bowls and utensils
In addition, you will find some kitchen basics to get you started, including:
- Tea and Coffee (fresh coffee beans and instant sachets)
- A small bottle of milk
- Salt and pepper
- Cooking oil
- Fresh free range eggs (subject to our hens – sometimes they take a holiday!)
Yes – but we do need approximately two (2) weeks notice.
We can arrange for a fabulous grazing platter to be available on arrival, and/or a bottle of wine or bubbles.
If you would either or these, please contact us and we can discuss your exact requirements.
We are 9km from the centre of the village.
Yes – if you ask us to light it! Let us know you would like it lighting, either when you book or by email after booking, along with your estimated arrival time and we will be happy to light the hot tub for you an hour before arrival so that it is heating up when you arrive. You can then just add more wood when you arrive and keep the fire going until the tub is hot enough.
If you don’t request this, our hot tubs take between 2.5 and 4 hours to fully heat. During this time you can sit in your private garden, open a bottle of wine and enjoy the view!
N.B. Please note that while we are very happy to light it for you we cannot keep it stoked endlessly until you arrive. So if you don’t provide an estimated arrival time we may not be able to light it for you.
The gas BBQ’s can be used.
However, we cannot light the hot tubs during periods where fires are prohibited. Unfortunately this means they cannot be used during fire prohibited periods. They are always good for a cold dip on a hot day though 🙂
Yes we are.
Each dome is fitted with a heat pump, which provides heating in the winter months and air conditioning in the summer.
Each dome has spare blankets, and an electric blanket for the bed.
Visiting in winter means the wood fired hot tubs come in to their own – there is nothing like soaking in a natural wood fired hot tub gazing at the stars. With almost no artificial light in the area we get some phenomenal night skies.
In the summer months, the BBQ comes into it’s own, and each dome has it’s own private garden.
No. There are two excellent laundry facilities in Hanmer Springs village, both of which provide washing and drying facilities.

The dome tents are made of PVC canvas with an internal lining. You can hear through them – however not to the same extent as an ordinary camping tent.
You are likely to hear the occasional car on the nearby country road (Medway Road), and the odd light aircraft or helicopter from the small airfield in Hanmer Basin. At certain times of year you will hear cattle or hay making. Occasionally a dog may bark or a neighbour may be using a chainsaw. Essentially you will hear the normal sounds of the countryside.
The main, consistent sound you will wake up to is bird song!
Yes. In The Games Shed you will find a pool table, table tennis and darts.
There is also a cupboard with a variety of board games, puzzles and cards that you are welcome to borrow during you stay.
In The Shed (Games Room) there are two bookshelves with a variety of books.
You are welcome to take one – either to read during your stay, or to take away with you. If you have finished a book, please leave it on the shelf for another guest to enjoy.
Yes – feel free to access the plugs in the games room.
Unfortunately the dome tents are strictly 2 guests only and we cannot cater for extra guests in the domes.
However, Isobel dome does have a large flat garden, larger outside table & chairs and larger hot tub. So, subject to prior written arrangement, we may be able to allow 1 or 2 further adults in a tent in the garden using your own tent, bedding, etc. Please contact us before booking if you require this.
