One of the most challenging aspects of our building project has been getting the three outer geodome canvases over the steel frames. The instructions used words such as “gently” and “glide”. This was not our experience! A lot of calories were burned getting the canvases up – with much sweat and a fair few swear words thrown in.
There are several people who helped us and we are extremely grateful – we could not have done it without you! Simon and Aaron from The Tiny House Company helped us with the first canvas, which was the real learning curve. The second, we roped in some of Jo’s colleagues and a couple of friends. The final canvas, we bribed our son’s friends, who were here to celebrate his 21st birthday. We made sure we got the help we needed before they cracked open the beer!
(Word of advice for anyone thinking of a similar project – a cherry picker would have been sensible in hindsight!)
The geodome canvases (now all up) are green. We want them to blend in with the native and exotic trees and shrubs that surround them.
